I have had this foundation for about five months now and as I am nearing the end of this it, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to review this product, weighing the pros and cons, and determine whether I would, at the end of it all, repurchase it.
I bought this foundation after hearing some good things about it from my friends and my sister. When in the shop, I was impressed with packaging. It did not feel cheap because of the glass container the foundation was stored in. It felt solid and not easily breakable like plastic usually does. The only thing I had to niggle at about the packaging was that there was no pump or application with it so this mean you had to use your fingers. This means, if your hands are dirty, you could be easily transferring that to your face which could cause a breakout. Therefore, I would recommend you buy a sponge with your foundation or a brush so you can avoid that chance.
I was so eager to try this out and when I had got back from the shops and I was quick to apply it to my face. The first thing I noticed was how soft the texture was. It was so smooth and silky. The foundation was so easy to apply to my face but the problem I had with it was that it stuck to the areas where I had dry patches and made them stand out even more. However, this was mainly my fault as I knew this was for a 'matte' finish so it was aimed at those who had oily skin, not dry like mine. Also, it is so easy to blend into the skin which means it gives a much natural finish and does not leave you with the unflattering foundation lines. Personally, the colouring of my foundation was perfect for my tone and I know that Maybelline has made a wide variety of skin colours so it is much easier to match up and not settle for the next best thing.
This foundation is a light coverage as I don't think it covers you blemishes fully and you would definitely need concealer on as well if you did want to cover up fully. Obviously if you were having a good day, with little imperfections, it would be perfect as, also, it isn't cakey which is good as it means it does not cause you to break out and it feels refreshing on the face. I would say that after applying it, this foundation lasts for about maybe, maximum, four hours before I notice it coming off my face.
Evidently, this foundation does last for a long period of time, however, as I know from others, liquid foundations can last up to two months longer so there are better ones out there but the price of this product is cheaper than those others. I paid just over £5 for it so it did last for it's worth.
Overall, I would give this product a two out of five. This product is not terrible however it does have it's main faults which downgrades it and means it does not reach it's full potential. I can say after reviewing this product, I will not be buying this foundation again and instead, I am wanting a more dry skin friendly foundation.
